Lebih jauh, Klio menceritakan, ide lagu ini berawal dari kisah pribadi dirinya yang kala itu sedang ada di dalam hubungan rumit.
“Gue menganalogikan kerumitan itu di verse dua –kalimat ‘and our love sounds like a tune that plays on the 31st of June‘. Yang artinya hubungan itu terdengar manis tapi sebetulnya nggak. Karena Juni hanya punya 30 hari, bukan 31. Jadi enggak nyata. Tapi di chorus, diakhiri dengan kata ‘Won’t be gone‘ yang berarti gue masih memperjuangkan hubungan itu,” ia menuturkan kepada Billboard Indonesia.

Bicara soal aransemen, bukan tanpa alasan jika “Won’t Be Gone” dikemas dalam balutan musik blues. Pasalnya, lagu ini ditulis lima tahun yang lalu ketika Klio banyak mendengarkan karya-karya dari musisi blues.
“Secara mood, gue mengambil referensi dari John Mayer dan Bruno Major yang sekiranya bantu gue menyampaikan mood melankolis itu,” cetusnya.
“Awalnya gue dapat nada untuk chorus-nya saat sedang di studio. Nada itu nyangkut terus, jadi gue kembangkan bagannya sampai jadi satu lagu. Ternyata nada itu selaras juga dengan kisah gue jadi setelah itu dimulai penulisannya.”
Klio menyampaikan, sebelum “Won’t Be Gone” dirilis, ia punya ketakutan lagu ini akan susah diterima pendengar. Ternyata, sejauh ini, feedback-nya sangat baik dan sejak itu ia belajar untuk lebih percaya diri dalam membagikan karyanya sendiri.
